Lives and works in Brussels.
Aurelien Dupuis' pictorial technique is inspired from amateur photography, particularly from familly portraits. He slowly reproduces these idyllic pictures using paint or children's markers, spoiling them and establishing them into non-reproducible materials. He confronts the high definition of the computational tool to the low definition of the pictorial work. He repeats a theme, a gesture in order to exhaust it. By deconstructing the sentimental and nostalgic components from snapshots he lets transpire what is left.
